I don’t even remember what he did for a living. At first I thought it was Brax who sold her, which would’ve been a great twist but then again, Brax’s character was written as sort of a weakling. I got tired just reading about what goes through her mind! But going back, the plot was amazing. The story was told through Tess’s POV and boy, she was an overthinker. I know that it’s part of the character build-up stuff but I just thought it was too much.

However, the build up of the story in the beginning was somehow boring for my taste. It reminded me of the movie Eden, which I thought was a great movie about human trafficking. The character being kidnapped and all that. This is my first Pepper Winters book and I have to say, she’s a good one. But then Q sent her home – to Australia – to Brax. Tess submitted to her master and agreed to be dominated. After that incident, everything changed for both of them. She was raped but Q found her and killed her rapists. She managed to run one day but ended up in more trouble. She didn’t expect to be attracted to her master. Tess did not expect the kind of treatment she would get from Q. She was sold to a wealthy French businessman, Quincy (Q) Mercer. Unlike the other women who were kidnapped, Tess fought her way through. She wants to spice up their sex life but Brax wasn’t the type of man to be dominating or experimental.įor their second anniversary, they went on a vacation in Mexico where Tess was kidnapped and Brax was beaten. However, Tess wants more from the relationship. They’ve been together for two years and have loved and completed each other.
